Tomorrow's Hometown - China's version of the Digital Nomad Guide is a Chinese city data query tool that helps you find your next settlement point. The information comes from public data sources such as local government yearbooks, statistics bureau data, and map app APIs, etc. The tool aims to provide decision-making references for Chinese youth who want to escape from mega-cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen by establishing a Chinese version of Nomad List (a digital nomad database). The project started public testing in June 2023. You can use complex filters to find your ideal place to live, such as cities with more than 90 sunny days a year and summer temperatures below 30 degrees Celsius. Or cities with a per capita income of over 60,000 and a resident population of less than 100,000. Even county towns with Starbucks, McDonald's, less than 60 rainy days a year, and a maximum temperature below 30 degrees Celsius.
As of July 28, 2023, the project has included 2,206 county-level administrative regions (county towns, county-level cities, excluding urban areas) + municipal-level administrative regions in mainland China. Currently, 29 dimensions are available for filtering for each county/city.
